Staff Nurse

University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a 10 PA Locum Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist to join our Gynaecological Oncology service, the is a fixed term post for 6-12 months. This service acts as the tertiary referral centre for gynaecological and endometrial cancers with North Central London. In the Department there is a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education / training. CU with application Main duties of the job The post holder would join a team of 4 other permanent gynaecological oncologists as well as a substantial wider MDT structure. The aims of the post :

• Support the gynaecological oncology service in order to ensure compliance with cancer waiting times targets
• Support the colposcopy service and associated multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with national targets
• Maximise efficiency of surgical pathways incorporating pre-operative optimization, in-patient flow, enhanced recovery and liaison with the peri-operative medicine team
• Provide an efficient and responsive surgical service for the North Central London cancer network
• Participate in research, education and audit within the department of gynaecological oncology
The post will comprise 10 PAs each week, including outpatient clinics and a weekly operating list. In addition, the post holder will need to carry out supporting clinical work including in-patient ward rounds. The post includes participation in the gynaecology on-call rota (1 : 11) and the post holder is expected to maintain competency in management of ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage as well as other gynaecological emergencies. They will take part in the on-going audit and research within the team. They will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He / she will complete the necessary CPD activity with the RCOG.
