Full Job Description

Our ambulatory emergency care Unit (AECU) or Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services provide same-day review for patients with urgent or emergency health problems without the need for attendance in A&E or, where possible, hospital admission.
Same Day Emergency Care: A one-stop service aimed to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat and discharge to GP, referred for urgent medical specialist input or admit all on the same day
At our Wexham Site we have a Band 5 Vacancy for a enthusiastic nurse who has a willingness to learn and work as a team member.
We are looking for Full time of Part hours.
We have a 7 days a week service (Mon-Sun).
Monday to Friday 08am- 21.00pm and Sat & Sun 09-21.00pm
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Care Assistants and Admin Staff and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating of nursing care within Ambulatory Emergency Care., To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care with minimal supervision.
2. To implement and be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care.
3. To carry out all administrative and nursing duties as delegated by the team leader and senior sister.
4. To organise and deploy staff according to their competence to meet patients' needs.
5. To demonstrate a sound knowledge of infection control standards and promote these within the ward environment
6. To refer to other disciplines utilising the Trusts electronic systems i.e. "Patient Centre" and "real time".
7. To assist in promotion of health.
8. To act in accordance with policies and nursing procedures as per Trust policy.
9. To co-ordinate the team/ward in absence of the team leader or senior sister.
10. To ensure confidentiality of patient records and high standards of nursing documentation.
11. To be aware of the complaints procedure and be able to apply it as needed.
12. To escalate as appropriate any untoward incidents, complaints and ward/staff issues.
13. To participate in ongoing clinical supervision.
14. To maintain own personal portfolio/profile and to take responsibility for annual updates on current legislative/hospital issues.
15. To ensure all training undertaken is evaluated to determine its effectiveness in practice and to ensure all objectives have been met.
