Full Job Description

Our acute surgical ward specialising in colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery, aims to provide a high quality effective service to all patients, encompassing the trusts vison and values.

A role with the ward offers a great opportunity to gain broad acute experience and develop your personal and professional confidence in supporting a wide range of patients of differing levels of dependency. There are plenty of learning opportunities and a competency package is offered to help develop knowledge, skills and confidence surrounding all aspects of this specialist area. Particular advantage with Clinical Nurse Specialist based on the ward supporting both team and patient care., The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. They will be required to actively participate in the teaching and supervision of other nursing and non-nursing staff. The post holder will also be required to take a lead / link role for the nursing unit/department to be determined on appointment/appraisal.
