Full Job Description

Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is pleased to announce we have vacancies for experienced registered nurses within our children's oncology and haematology daycare department and inpatient ward E39.

The service takes children and young people from 0 - 18 years with a diagnosis of cancer from across the East Midlands.

A job in this service will give you an opportunity to care for children and families from diagnosis through to end of treatment and beyond.

Our oncology daycare unit provides ongoing treatment for children and young people and their family's whilst they aren't an inpatient and helps to support them with time at home.

You will have opportunity to develop skills in administering chemotherapy and other treatment regimes.

Ward E39 is a 15 bedded ward, 5 of the beds being a dedicated Teenage Cancer Trust Unit for 13 - 18 year olds.

You will be supported to develop enhanced specialist skills by both the dedicated ward clinical educator and reginal clinical educator.

There is also opportunity to become trained in speciality as staff our enabled to attend various specialist children's oncology courses at either degree or masters level.

Nottingham Children's Hospital is set within the vibrant city of Nottingham known for its many historical sites and lively music scene. The children's hospital is housed within the Queens medical centre campus and has 116 inpatient beds across 8 inpatient wards covering all specialitys, with many of our specialitys being regional centres as well as two neonatal intensive care units one based at our City hospital campus.

We have an innovative Preceptorship programme to support newly qualified staff during their crucial transition period from student nurse to registered nurse as well bespoke support for those joining our teams.
