Full Job Description

  • We have a full time opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join us in the Specialist Medicine Division on McEntee, an 18 bedded purpose built infectious diseases unit that specialises in the care of patients with transmissible diseases including the management of patients with HIV/AIDS, TB and imported infections such as Malaria. You will gain experience in caring for patients with complex needs who can be acutely unwell.
  • With a variety of career progression opportunities - from Clinical Ward Manager, Practice Educator, Matron, Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist roles; where do you see yourself?, Plan the delivery of patient care and take responsibility for implementing and evaluating the care provided.
  • Use of available electronic systems to provide care and safety for our patients.
  • To provide advice and education to patients, staff and learners within the directorate as required.
  • Be able to prioritise their own workload and of those working with them such as learners and Healthcare Assistants.
  • To develop communication networks across specialities and throughout the multidisciplinary team.
  • Fostering a mentoring environment in line with our teaching hospital.
  • Carry out nursing care to the highest possible standard according to Trust Policies and and Clinical Guidelines.
  • To administer patient medication according to Trust Policy, this includes the administration of intravenous medication.
