Full Job Description

Are you a surgical nurse looking for a new challenge? Have you considered developing new skills? F Ward is a busy short stay surgical ward, You will be responsible for ensuring patients are safely prepared for day surgery and coordinating multiple surgical theatre lists encompassing several specialities.

Assisting in the delivery of a patient-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service from admission to discharge, you should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. You will be delivering evidence-based nursing care to a variety of general surgical patients in an exciting, challenging but supportive environment.

You will be responsible for managing timely effective discharges.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team who can demonstrate a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient centred care.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrable ability to work creatively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

1 year experience post qualification is essential, with Surgical experience preferred.

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

Specialist Regional Services

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
