Full Job Description

As an experienced band 5 nurse on William Gull ward, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of patients, planning care and the implementation and evaluation of care pathways without direct supervision.

Following a period of orientation and professional development you may have management responsibility and be in-charge of the ward on certain shifts, in addition to supervising junior members of staff. You will be a key member in relation to the development of practice on the ward.

You will be accountable for your own professional actions, ensuring the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.

You will demonstrate our trust values at all times and be a role model for more junior members of staff.

Although not essential, candidates with previous experience of managing patients with long-term and acute respiratory conditions is preferred. Additional education and development opportunities will be available to successful candidates.
