An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, dynamic, multidisciplinary Interventional Radiology and Vascular Access Team. This is a permanent full time post . We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated nurse willing to advance their career and take on new challenges in this highly specialised aspect of radiology.
The Interventional Radiology (IR) service and Vascular Access teams are based within the Newlyn Unit, which houses state of the art equipment placing the service at the forefront of IR delivery in the South West, and the nurse-led vascular access and paracentesis service involves placement of intravenous devices for medium to long term therapy (midlines and PICC lines) and placement of abdominal drains at the bedside., To work with the IR and Vascular Access Lead Nurse and Radiology Team Leaders to ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of the Interventional radiology, Vascular Access and Paracentesis service.
To work as part of a team providing a 24 hour, 7 day service for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, including a commitment to the 'on-call' service.
To deputise for the senior nurse staff in their absence or when required as deemed appropriate by the IR and Vascular Access Lead
To work closely with the Clinical Imaging multidisciplinary team to deliver a high quality service.
To provide clinical nursing expertise to the radiology department to ensure the highest possible standard of compassionate patient centred care.

Candidates should have a minimum of one years post registration experience in the acute setting.
Experience of radiology/ theatre nursing and the placement of vascular access devices would be an advantage but not essential.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week, covering 7 days a week. The interventional radiology team delivers an emergency weekend and out of hours service.
