Full Job Description

Join our team where you'll have the opportunity to care for patients recovering major trauma. You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills on a busy acute ward and develop within your staff nurse post.

We treat emergency major trauma patients. We have a high number of fragility fracture patients and a dedicated trauma coordination team to expedite surgery and we work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure right care, right place, and right patient. Many of our patients live with dementia and we are looking for nurses who can build relationships with the patients and their families. Working with patients who live with dementia provides opportunities to support the latest thinking in nursing. You will have the benefit of working in a multi-professional team including a therapeutic activity coordinator, so there are endless opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in this field.

Applications are invited from hardworking, innovative and highly motivated nurses to join a dynamic team in our Major Trauma Ward .With your natural skills and abilities to prioritise, you will carry out a range of duties that may vary day to day, and acting as the patient's advocate, you will work within the NMC Code of Conduct working in a vibrant, friendly and supportive environment. You will be required to work flexibly in a changing environment, confident, approachable and able to demonstrate ability to work under own initiative.
