Staff Nurse - Older Adults | Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Woodlands Hospital is looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate Band 5 Nurses to join them in providing the best care possible for our adults in later life, whether experienced or newly qualified, on Holly Ward which is the 17-bedded male organic ward. The postholders would be an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team providing care to our service users and being a key contact for our relatives and carers. Daily tasks would include attending and leading handovers, medicines management, care planning, risk assessing, attending and contributing to board rounds and multi-disciplinary team meetings, and supporting junior staff members on shift. Professional development, whether a preceptee or not, is a key priority here at Woodlands and the postholder would engage in an appraisal to identify areas of interest and development and be supported with further training whenever possible. An in-house training programme is being further developed to support the development of our staff team.

The Unit liaises with Bolton & Salford CMHT plus very experienced & enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists. The unit has other professionals on site & in post including: OTs, Speech & Language, Physiotherapists, RGNs working within the physical health team, Dietitians, Psychology plus an admission & discharge coordinator. We offer experience & learning to student nurse plus medical staff at various stages of development. Qualified nurses who want to work within a close knit & nurturing team whilst continuing to develop their practices are encouraged to consider application.
