Full Job Description

We currently have a Band 5 Staff Nurse vacancy within the Specialist Delivery Unit on Oswald Ward. This is a fixed term post for 10 months, ending 07/09/25, at 30 hours a week. Oswald Ward forms is dedicated to MSK oncology and orthopaedic patients. The ward is led by Ward Manager, Sister Fiona Hughes and specialises in the care of patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic disease, prides itself on the outstanding care delivered to patients throughout their entire journey from referral through to treatment, discharge and follow up care. It is one of five specialist centres within the United Kingdom, covering a large demographic area and has a strong multidisciplinary focus, both within and outside the Trust, working closely with other NHS organisations and services such as Macmillan. The service offers individualised holistic care, to those patients requiring surgical and palliative care. The service is dedicated to the development of all staff members to ensure they are confident and proficient in providing highly skilled, high quality nursing care.,

  • Under the direction of the Ward manager the post holder is responsible for providing skilled high quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, to ensure individualised and effective careis practiced. The post holder will:Contribute to the continuity of good team spirit and high standards of nursing care. Empowering junior staff to develop the highest possible level of clinical skills and facilitates communication within all care groupsThey will utilise the ward/department resources to promote excellence in practice and promote and expedite quality issues relevant to the service delivery.
