Full Job Description

The Walton Centre is seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Outpatient Department team. As a specialist hospital in neurology, neurosurgery, and pain management, we deliver cutting-edge care and innovative treatments. Our nurses play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting their recovery journey. As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will work alongside a dynamic, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role involves assessing and supporting patients through various consultations, procedures, and treatments. You will develop specialist skills in neurology and neurosurgery, benefiting from our commitment to professional development, and have the opportunity to work within an innovative environment dedicated to patient-centered care. We are looking for a registered nurse with excellent communication skills and a passion for providing high-quality care. Previous experience in neurology, outpatient care, or a related field is beneficial but not essential; we value a commitment to learning and an adaptable approach.,

  • Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, individualized care to patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions, ensuring safety and promoting comfort.
  • Assessment & Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health needs, plan appropriate interventions, and ensure care aligns with best practices.
  • Clinical Support: Assist in outpatient consultations and procedures, providing pre- and post-procedural care, monitoring patient progress, and addressing any concerns.
  • Room Organization: Maintain a well-organized, efficient clinical environment. Prepare examination rooms for procedures and appointments, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available. Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly space that promotes effective care delivery.
  • Patient & Family Education: Provide clear, compassionate guidance to patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care, helping them feel informed and reassured.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and care outcomes, ensuring compliance with NHS and Trust policies.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to build specialist knowledge in neurological and neurosurgical nursing.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely with consultants, allied health professionals, and administrative staff to support patient care and maintain a seamless outpatient experience.
