Full Job Description

We are currently looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our friendly team atOak Tree Ward. We are a 17 bedded Older Adult Mental Health assessment mixed gender ward. We look after people living with conditions such as; Dementia, Depression, Anxiety, Schizoid-affective disorder, Bi-polar disorder. Including organic and functional mental health conditions

We have a diverse healthcare team of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and Healthcare Assistant, Dance and Music Psychotherapists, Music Therapist, Healthcare Support workers, Dual trained band 5 nurses, Nursing associate, Clinical Team Leaders, Ward Managers, Junior Doctors, Specialist Registrars, Consultant psychiatrist and Volunteers from charitable organisations.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

kThe successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to work in a challenging and multi-agency environment, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nursing and medical staff and a range of allied health professionals

Working with our service users to ensure daily activities of life is supported and maintained.

Safe administration of medication

Keeping the people who using our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments and management

Completing holistic care plans with service users and their families.

Referrals to external source's

Excellent communication with services and their family members

Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by keeping your skills up-to-date and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures

Supervising other staff and students' nurses to ensure they are working to the standards which the people using our services deserve.

To liaise with others to share expertise, promote ideas and work collaboratively with key stakeholders, agencies and organisations as required.

Monitor and audit of the quality and effectiveness of all aspects of service delivery.

Maintaining safety of the ward, staff and services users by the upkeep of trust polices and procedures.
