Are you an experienced or newly qualified registered nurse (RMN, RGN or RNLD) looking to join a ward that pride ourselves on the Dementia Health services we provide to our patients and their families? St Brelades Ward, based at Alderney Hospital, Poole would like for you to join their supportive team!

As a Staff Nurse for St Brelades Ward, you will work in a male 17-bed assessment and treatment ward, which provides specialist care for a person with a Dementia and Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) alongside a multi-disciplinary team. You will have strong leadership skills and experience of working with individuals with a dementia both, in physical and mental health settings. You will be motivated, have a passion and compassion are essential personal qualities for this role, along with excellent team-working, communication and assessment skills.

The Staff Nurse post is a full-time role, we would be flexible and accept part time applications with a minimum of 22.5 hours. Flexible shifts listed below.

Early - 07.00 - 15.00

Late - 15.00 - 21.00

Long Day - 07.00 - 21:00

Nights - 20.30 - 07.30 (enhanced pay)

Weekends and public holidays at enhanced pay!

Main duties of the job

Assessment and Treatment of individuals with a Dementia. Risk assessment and person-centred care planning.

A good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act is required, alongside excellent clinical skills.

Leadership of shifts and acting as the nurse in charge in the absence of band 6 or above.

Providing clinical care to patients and liaising with carers and family.
