Full Job Description
OAK unit/ Ward 2 is a complex medical ward based at Trafford General hospital , with a focus on frailty and complex discharge assessment. We are fortunate to work with a dedicated ward based multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the
maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

OAK unit is a medical ward with a specialism in care of the older person. The ward works using a multidisciplinary approach and are looking for new team members who have an interest in frailty and caring for the older person with complex medical needs.
A structured induction and training program ensure that our nurses receive the following:-
-Band 5 induction - Corporate and Clinical induction - Preceptorship and clinical skills program for Nurses led by Practice Based Educators-Administration of IV drugs.
There will also be the opportunity to attend the LEAD courses provided by the trust.
