Full Job Description

Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, as Staff Writer at Shortlist you'll be sourcing, writing and editing stories around key mens' lifestyle topics. You'll write a mix of short form news content and 'ShortList' listicle features, across topics as varied as gaming to grooming. You'll build content pyramids across lifestyle categories, ensure timely news coverage across relevant topics, and maintain long-tail evergreen content following SEO best practices. You'll be brimming with ideas, and have a finger on the pulse for the most exciting breaking stories.

  • Experienced in news gathering from independent sources, web, social media and PR contacts
  • An understanding of SEO best practices and evergreen content maintenance
  • Knowledge of newsletter publishing and its audience needs
  • An understanding of eCommerce editorial, and the 'peak' trading events of the year
  • Knowledge of mens' lifestyle topics, including tech, music, fashion, entertainment, gaming, grooming, travel and nightlife
