Stage Manager - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for an experienced, Stage Manager to work on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London's West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.
Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Stage Manager on a first-class West End production.
Previous experience as a Stage Manager on a busy show is essential. Candidates should be able to lead a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should run a successful department and liaise with all other departments on the production and associated personnel. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one of the most technical shows in the West End, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in management of a large team and knowledge of performer flying, use of real flame, stage operations and maintenance, and will relish a new challenge in a busy and dynamic production.

Job Location: West End London
Contract Type: A year contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.
Salary: Competitive HOD salary. Whilst a buyout, overtime is paid for hours in excess of 8 per day from the third working day onwards. In addition, if hours exceed an average of 48 across a 52 week period, a lump sum is calculated and paid annually. Plus yearly cast change bonus, Sunday pay and Appearance on Stage payments where applicable.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is committed to improving work-life balance within the industry and we aim to honor a 5-day working week where possible for all departments outside the cast change period.
