Full Job Description

Within the role of Staging and Yard Operative, the following areas of work will be expected to be completed regularly:

  • Working with the rest of the warehouse team, equipment must be prepared, dispatched, returned and maintained in a timely manner to exacting standards.
  • Preparing, packing and loading equipment prior to events
  • Checking everything back into stock as projects are completed
  • Following onsite training, you should be confident in methodically inspecting large quantities of staging equipment to ensure structural integrity and cosmetic appearance.
  • Maintain the Staging and Yard Department and ensure work areas are in clean and orderly state.
  • General maintenance / DIY skills, especially regarding sanding & filling wooden panels as well as cleaning & painting wooden surfaces is highly desirable
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Yard Supervisor based upon the changing needs of the business
  • To Maintain Strict confidentiality at all times, IPS offers 20 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays. This will increase to 22 days after two years' service and will increase by one day for each year completed up to a maximum of 25 days. Statutory sick pay and enhanced maternity/paternity benefits will be payable as appropriate.
  • IPS regularly provides training to employees as appropriate and will help staff wishing to gain skills in areas helpful to the business, including forklift license courses, and product specific training. IPS will provide safety boots and gloves, as well as branded T-Shirts and jackets which form the workplace uniform. IPS offers private health care to all staff with two years' service through Vitality Health. All staff with under two years' service will have access to Vitality at work. Staff break areas with a pool table, plus there are regular staff social events such as Christmas Party, End of Summer Staff BBQ, visits from a variety of street food vendors and individual team nights out.     The full time Staging and Yard Operative role will be based at our busy Milton Keynes warehouse. Reporting to the Yard Supervisor. This role requires the applicant to have good communication skills and be a team player. IPS regularly works all over the UK, and correctly prepared and dispatched equipment is vital to successful service delivery. IPS is looking for someone who is proactive and energetic.,
  • You must be physically fit, and able to perform manual tasks - specifically handling and stacking Staging Decks and accessories
  • You must have a proactive attitude towards equipment safety, and ensure that any defects are dealt with promptly
  • You must always work safely and methodically, with a high level of attention to detail and awareness of task timescales
  • You must be happy working both individually and as part of a team, and be willing to work across all departments.
  • You must be able to communicate in verbal and written English, with appropriate maths skills for accurate stock management.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required and have a flexible attitude to working hours.
  • Passport and Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Beneficial Abilities:
  • Forklift Licence would be desirable, but is not essential
  • Driving License C1 or C2
  • Previous experience within a scaffolding yard, understanding of Layher systems are all highly desirable., event industry: 1 year (required)

    As a full time employee, your salary will be dependent on experience and will be based on a 42.5 hour working week, paid monthly on the last working day of the month.
