Full Job Description
The Stakeholder Engagement Lead will collaborate and build senior relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Essential skills include excellent verbal, written, and negotiation abilities, as well as the capacity to explain key messages and complex issues clearly. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and project management skills are also required to support the airport's objectives. While experience with local authorities and community forums is desirable, it is not essential. Responsibilities:
- Leading the development and successful delivery of local stakeholder engagement strategies and plans in alignment with the overarching stakeholder engagement strategy for long-term capacity growth.
- Arranging and delivering internal and external local engagement activities, including preparing written materials and presentations for senior audiences across multiple platforms.
- Managing stakeholder mapping, preparing communications, and responding to stakeholder enquiries, ensuring that stakeholder feedback and requests are communicated to technical teams and addressed within agreed timescales.
- Collaborating with technical and project team members across the business, liaising with other Stakeholder Managers and functions to deliver successful business outcomes while engaging with community stakeholders.
- Preparing and managing logistics for workshops, roundtables, and forums, including agenda development, project planning, minute-taking, and report production.
- Maintaining an accurate audit trail of all stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring that all contacts and actions are recorded in Salesforce.
- Leading and managing key relationships with community stakeholder groups as appropriate.
- Supporting and leading where appropriate cross-department working groups.
- Occasionally working outside of regular office hours, including attending stakeholder events and meetings.
Expertise in developing and delivering stakeholder engagement strategies, including strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. - Skilled in negotiation, with the ability to reach mutually beneficial solutions and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to senior audiences across multiple platforms.
- Strong organisational and project management skills to plan, execute, and oversee multiple engagement activities, including workshops and events.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technical and project staff.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset for stakeholder mapping and analysis, with the ability to address stakeholder inquiries and concerns effectively and within agreed timescales.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar tools to maintain accurate records and audit trails of stakeholder engagement activities.
- Knowledge of local authority town planning is desirable

Working Location Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
