Full Job Description

Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust's appointed person.

Educated on good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
- Basic end-user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT systems.

Full-time 12 weeks training on Monday-Friday at 10:00-18:00 then move into part-time role, 30 hrs per week on Monday at 16:00-00:00, Wednesday-Friday at 14:00-22:00., An annual salary of £18,892.00 plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hours!

Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship! This is a 12-15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession! It is universally applicable outside of STERIS! Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career!
