Full Job Description

The successful applicant will efficiently oversee inventory across all Soleil sites, reporting directly to the Stock Control Manager, Candidates will be the point of contact for stock-related inquiries, meticulously maintaining accurate records, facilitating timely reconciliations, and ensuring effective communication with suppliers and warehouses. As integral members of a small team, they'll apply problem-solving skills to address any challenges that arise. Additionally, candidates should possess intermediate Excel proficiency, a system-focused mindset, excellent attention to detail, and an inquisitive nature, Stock Integrity & Quality:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of stock-related systems and transactions

  • Act as the go-to resource for stock-related inquiries from various departments, clarifying stock levels, availability and related issues

  • Regularly reconcile stock data between Sage X3 and third-party WMS

  • Proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies

  • Monitor stock on hold, inventories, shelf life, part pallets, rotation and cycle counts

  • Action stock adjustments and disposal when required

  • Assist in gathering data related to product recalls, quality concerns and audits

  • Handle Customer allocations by assigning product details to orders following the FEFO principle

  • Resolve Customer shipment allocation issues and monitor returns


  • Inbound:
  • Monitor Receiving schedule, request / verify shipping and delivery documents

  • Update the system for any changes to orders (e.g. item codes, delivery dates, quantities)

  • Analyse BBE shelf life and liaise with suppliers as needed

  • Share pre-advice documents with warehouses before goods arrive, preventively alerting them to any anomalies or deviations from the norm

  • Accurately check and confirm all goods receipts and receive goods into the system in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with suppliers and warehouses to address and resolve variances, quality issues and non-conformities

  • Coordinate and record any damages or shortages

  • Identify, register and follow up on non-conformities, purchase returns and any pending enquiries


  • Other:
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, warehouses and internal stakeholders

  • Weekly / Month Stock Cut-offs: Save stock files and share summary status

  • Assist with Product creation in the system

  • Maintain KPIs

  • Review and adhere to established processes and procedures

  • Fulfil other duties as required

  • Provide feedback to Stock Control Lead & Stock Control Manager

    Attention to Detail: Meticulous record-keeping and problem-solving skills

  • Microsoft Office: Intermediate Excel proficiency

  • Communication Skills: Excellent collaboration both internally and externally, with strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Initiative and Prioritisation: Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively


  • Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Software: Familiarity with Sage X3

  • Experience: A minimum of one year in stock control environment Supply Chain/Distribution Knowledge: Understanding supply chain and distribution principles

  • GS1 Compliance: Familiarity with GS1 standards

    Soleil Foodservice Ltd is an expanding re-distributor supplying restaurant chains throughout Europe and warehousing services for large on-line retailers. The company offices are based in Wrexham, North Wales. We are currently looking to recruit for the following position

    37.5 hours a week:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm (with a half-hour lunch break) Friday: 8 am to 4 pm (with a half-hour lunch break)

  • Hybrid working opportunity (minimum of two days in the office required)

    Pay: £23,500.00 per year
