Stock Control Assistant/Warehouse Packer- 4 day/40 hour week - Monday to Thursday

An opportunity has become available for a newly created Stock Control Assistant/Warehouse Packer role to join our growing team at Prefix Systems, a leading conservatory roof system manufacturer.

To be successful in this role you must display strong attention to detail and quality, as well as excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. You must also be able to work well with people and demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.

The preferred candidate will have prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, in particular as part of a warehousing team.

Core tasks of the role include:

Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy

Liaise with the Operations and Supply Chain Managers regarding stock shortages

Handle stock queries and investigation on stock movements

Audit goods-in delivery notes against purchase orders

Maintain stock locations

Support Supply Chain Manager with ad hoc tasks

Support Box Pick function

Laying away of products to maintain efficient stock counts

Other duties include:

· Maintaining a safe and organised work environment and follow all company standard operating procedures including health and safety procedures.

· Standing for long periods of time and meet other physical demands such as walking, bending, stooping and lifting.

· Wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment at all times to prevent exposure and risk of injury to general shop floor hazards such as high noise.

· Being enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.

· Being willing to provide cover for other roles across the shop floor and other duties as directed by your team leader.

· Critical Thinking: using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

· Communication: an effective communicator at all levels including reading, writing and speaking.

· Troubleshooting: determining causes of non-conformances and deciding what to do about them.

· Initiative: ability to work on your own directive without constant supervision.

The successful candidate will be proficient in IT Skills (MS Office). Experience of using Sage or other warehouse management systems would be advantageous but training will be provided.

Normal working hours 4 days over 40 hour week - 6 am to 4.30 pm. From time to time you will be required to be flexible with your working hours to accommodate production and delivery demands. Overtime at time and a half is paid when available and required during times of high demand.
