Anexciting opportunity has arisen to work alongside our partners CGL in embeddingthe local stop smoking service within their service, to support service usersto stop smoking.

The role will look at working with our partners instrategically placing the services at the right points through Nottinghamshireand working together to support services users.

This role is extremelyrewarding in making a difference to peoples lives. The role of the Specialist StopSmoking Practitioner is to support the delivery of evidenced based, equitablestop smoking services to help to reduce the inequalities throughout thecontracted localities.

This will include the delivery of services within areasof most deprivation. It is essential that the postholder can work flexibly,independently and as part of a team.

Trainingwill be given to ensure staff / applicants are equipped to deliver effectiveservices.

Main duties of the job

Motivateand empower clients to make changes to address their addiction.

Explain to clients the principles of the nicotine and StopSmoking Service to enable them to make informed - choices.

Deliver evidence-based stop smoking interventions, theseinclude one to one, drop in, group sessions, telephone, or on-line support,these must be in accordance with the NCSCT Standard Treatment Programme.

Work with other professionals toembed smoking cessation as part of routine client care.

Maximise the impact of smokingcessation on health gains and reduce health inequalities.

To understand the analysis ofhealth and equalities data including service data identifying local need toinform local service need.

Provide a high quality, efficient and cost-effectiveservices throughout a diverse range of community settings.

Lead peer support group sessions forsuccessful quitters following intervention to prevent relapse.

Provide evidence-based education in allaspects of smoking cessation and behavioural change as well on-goingmotivational support., This role is extremely rewarding in making a difference topeoples lives. Ensure all client and service records are upto date, accurate and satisfy the ABL Health documentation policies.

You will be amotivated, passionate, organised, and proactive individual with significantexperience in smoking cessation or addiction.

This role willbe demanding as services develop and should become integrated in all settings.It will be essential that you use your own judgement to prioritise competingdemands and workload effectively to specific timescales., This post willwork under the line management of the Head of Service. The role will be varied,challenging, and rewarding as the service becomes embedded in all localcommunities across the borough.

  • Skills / knowledge to utilise computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Have a positive outlook with an ability to inspire confidence, provide vision and motivate people.

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to influence using skills and knowledge.

  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.

  • Understanding concepts of behaviour change and how to implement these.

  • Understanding and evidence of adhering to information governance policies

  • Experience of developing and delivering training to target audiences.

  • Understanding of national guidance and ability to disseminate
