Full Job Description

You are invited to join our team within the Pathology department. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a willingness to learn., The job will entail ordering and receiving goods, stock control, goods distribution, waste removal and other general duties for the Pathology Department., Undertake the correct marshalling of deliveries breaking these down where necessary to facilitate the most efficient loading and distribution to customers with minimum delay, ensure relevant paperwork is attached to goods before delivery to appropriate department.

Undertake the receipt of deliveries from all suppliers, ensuring that adequate checks are made and that the delivery is correct in terms of quantity and description, purchase order details and details printed on packaging

Responsible for safe receipt of goods and subsequent deliveries throughout the organisation ensuring the goods are appropriately signed for and that an accurate record is kept of all receipts and issues.

Ensure that goods received match those ordered prior to booking and deliver thereby avoiding the need for collection and return to supplier later on.

Required to maintain adequate stocks of supplies in accordance with agreed levels along with the submission of requisitions for stock replenishment, including annual stocktake.

The post holder will be required to have good keyboard skills. Excellent communication skills and telephone manner are also essential together with the ability to work as a team member coping within a busy environment and working to deadlines.

Training will be given in all aspects of the role and an ability to work autonomously once trained is essential.
