Store Worker - If you are a dedicated and skilled individual with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States Air Force, Defense Commissary Agency , RAF Lakenheath We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in a store to be able to perform a variety of store worker duties involved in the handling, marking, preparing, and maintaining of stock levels of grocery items. You will work in an assigned department within the store (e.g., grocery, produce, meat, etc.), but may also perform rotational assignments within all departments. Our team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards of operational readiness., You will be responsible for assisting with unloading incoming shipments, receiving supplies and equipment, resale items, verifying shipments, reporting discrepancies, and using proper stock rotation. In addition, you will visually inspect and maintain adequate stock of perishable and nonperishable subsistence items, arranging, and replenishing stock as necessary, determining prices and affixing selling price labels. On occasion, you may be required to operate a cash register scanning system which records unit prices in proper amounts, and account, validate, and process payments including cash, checks, debit and credit card transactions, electronic benefits transfer transactions, and coupons. You may be asked to bag items, hand out flyers and/or coupons, assists patrons in the correct processing of their orders or retrieve carts from the parking lot. Your hours of work will be 24 hours per week on an as rostered schedule between 0600-2300, (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies. You will be required to observe US Federal Holidays in lieu of UK Bank Holidays. Work requires continuous walking, standing, bending, and/or stooping and moving of arms to fill shelves, counters, build displays, and pick orders. You will frequently lift or move heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, with assistance or with the use of pallet jack or other material handling equipment, you will lift items weighing over 50 pounds. A preemployment physical is required.

You will have the required skills needed to prepare arrange and/or stack items together for safety and neatness by rotating stock, recognizing and reporting items of poor and unacceptable quality, and sorting, washing, separating, and packaging quantities of produce and/or package meat products. You will be skilled in operating a computer system that marks prices, calculates prices and weights of merchandise, prepares pricing labels, and prepares a variety of recurring reports and in operating a manual and/or electric pallet jack in a safe manner to perform assigned duties. You will be knowledgeable of brand names, sizes of items, kinds and varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables and/or of the various cuts and types of meat products to ensure proper care and handling when preparing items for display. Other significant facts about the role: You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
