Pharmacy Distribution Assistant -Part time or full time hours considered The Pharmacy Purchasing and Distribution Team supply medicines across the whole of the OUH NHS Foundation Trust meeting the needs of patients medicine requirements. The team is based in our warehouse situated on the Unipart site in Cowley, however this post involves rotation across all Oxford Trust sites. Training and qualification You will be trained in all aspects of the Stores and Distribution Service

  • You may already hold a Btec Level 2 in Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Support Staff qualification (or equivalent GPhC recognised qualification), but if not do not worry as full training and support through this qualification process can be provided.
  • The Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team is responsible for receiving in pharmaceutical stock, maintaining stock levels, checking deliveries for accuracy and putting stock away ensuring effective stock rotation. Picking, checking and packing medication to go to wards and other areas of Pharmacy. Visiting wards and departments on a rotational basis to conduct pharmacy top-ups, ensuring that ward stock inventories are maintained safely and accurately., We are looking for a Band 2 Pharmacy Distribution Assistant to join our team based in our warehouse on the Unipart site in Cowley, This is a full time post (37.5hrs per week) however part-time flexible working options would also be considered. Previous Pharmacy experience is not essential. The candidate will be required to work towards an NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services if they do not already hold this qualification, this will be supported by our Education and Training Team. Duties include Visiting clinical areas in order to conduct ward stock top-ups across all Oxford Trust sites Checking deliveries for accuracy against Purchase orders Dealing with telephone calls from Wards and Departments Picking orders to supply various departments Receipt, unpacking and putting away of deliveries. Conducting checks of expiry dates and stock levels. Experience is not necessary but a keenness to learn new skills, and a want to be part of a team dedicated to meet service needs is essential.
