gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Stores Project Specialist to work at their facility based near Birmingham
Performance Objectives
+ We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Project Specialist with a strong background in Store Management, Procurement with analytic mind set.
+ The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and effectively ensuring smooth inventory control, while also identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with other stakeholders to make informed decisions on several different issues regarding Stores.
+ Key responsibilities but not limited include analysing, interpreting, and submitting data reports, conducting minimum and maximum stock level analysis, managing obsolete items, and leading competitive tender exercises to guarantee cost-effective pricing for the company and to ensure that this is correct on the system. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and proficiency in handling numerical data.
Person Specification
+ Compare the Stores Department internal processes with industry best practice.
+ Implement process improvement for all Stores related activity.
+ Constantly analyse stores data to propose cost savings projects such as but not limited to:
+ Implement new inventory management to reduce waste and cost,
+ Implement and manage the minimum and maximum report to control expenditure.
+ Streamline computerised systems to allow for better control of inventory to prevent stock shortages and maintain optimal inventory levels.
+ Provide regular project updates to the Management Team and Procurement Manager.
+ Supplier negotiation using a number of different negotiation techniques including individual supplier meetings, e-auctions and supplier summits between others.
+ Management and benchmark existing suppliers, working with several suppliers and Site Engineers to identify possible alternative products / sources of supply, and arranging Site trials in conjunction with Engineers.
+ Set up NDAs as and when required prior tender exercises.
+ Ensure all sourcing exercises are done accordingly to the SOP.
+ Work on cost savings initiatives and manage the savings database to record all savings achieved.
+ Attend daily Engineering meetings and other meetings with suppliers and SPAs.
+ Assist the different teams to solve finance and requisitions queries.
+ Support the Procurement Manager in different tasks ie reporting, preparation of events like Kaizen and supplier summits and other admin tasks etc.
+ Responsible to implement and follow procedures.
+ Standardise item description.
+ General administrative duties as associated with the running of a Stores Project Specialist.
+ Travel might be required.
+ The ultimate purpose of this position, is to hire a candidate that can manage and prioritise projects to achieve a target cost savings a year from Stores expenditure.

+ Must hold a degree in Business administration/Economics/Supply Chain or other Engineering or business-related degree. Ideally if candidate posses CIPS proved qualifications or CSWM.
+ Must have experience in Purchasing with a manufacturing background.
+ Experience in managing inventory levels.
+ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office specially Excel, Power BI, Pivot Tables or similar data analysis tools.
+ Strong analytical skills.
+ Strong organisational and planning skills and know how to prioritise tasks.
+ Proven decision-making and project management experience and implementing new processes.
+ Be team player is essential.
+ Excellent verbal and written communicator.
+ Excellent customer service.
+ The ability to work and think in a pressurised, ever-changing environment is essential and most important to meet tight deadlines.
+ Pro-active attitude with strong negotiation skills to handle pressure and managing different types of personalities stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
+ Be proficiency managing Excel and Oracle.
+ Managing Stores Processes.
+ Managing min and max stores level.
+ Relevant professional qualification like CSWM or CIPS proven qualification.
+ Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
+ Preferable able to read drawings.
