Full Job Description
The Change Management Centre of Excellence (CMC) was created to spearhead transformation programmes on behalf of KPMG Audit, delivering Audit Subject Matter Expertise and Project Management delivery support throughout the entire lifecycle of our strategic investment projects. We require a high performing Transformation Director to be part of the CMC leadership team, helping shape the strategic direction of Audit and to lead a transformation sub portfolio on a variety of exciting and significant projects. With extensive transformation skills and experience, ideally blending consultancy experience and application of these skills in an audit context, you will challenge the 'as-is' model and lead the design of the future delivery model to meet the needs of the Audit Strategy. You will lead project teams to design and implement alternative delivery models, helping define problem statements, articulate potential solutions and develop the business cases to deliver the recommendations. You will oversee governance requirements for your portfolio, design project and process workshops, and undertake stakeholder engagement and management. You will bring technical skills in planning, risk analysis and stakeholder engagement to portfolio and project management, leadership and business knowledge. You will be responsible for driving transformation across all operational areas within KPMG Audit, managing teams to deliver successful outcomes and benefits and taking personal accountability for the success of your projects and those within your portfolio. Experience in one of the Big 4 Audit firms, or in a regulated environment, would be highly beneficial.
- Provide leadership support to the Head of Audit Transformation.
- Deliver transformational change projects from identification of need through to implementation. Support and lead team members in doing the same.
- Lead combined project and audit teams, senior stakeholders, project sponsors, business leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver transformation projects.
- Provide Audit Executives and the Head of Change and Transformation with regular project updates as well as timely escalation of key risks, issues, dependencies and decisions as appropriate.
- Ensure that business change opportunities are identified, assessed, planned, monitored and delivered to optimise benefits.
- Support the development of business cases and plans to demonstrate the value of the proposed solutions and provide confidence that these benefits will be realised.
- Ensure all projects in the portfolio, meet all pre-defined success criteria and governance requirements.
- Lead and support other team members in the design, leading and facilitation of project design workshops (e.g. policy, business requirements, process, operating model etc).
- Provide best-practice support in the design and maintenance of project plans and other project artefacts, in liaison with the CMC Project Management Office (PMO).
- Chair project Steering Committees and Working Groups.
- Ensure effective and timely communication of activities and progress to all stakeholders.
- Ensure best practice transition of project deliverables and benefits into the BAU environment.
- Support the recruitment and performance management of project team members as required, ensuring you are having rich development conversations that support their growth and career progression. Professional project, consultancy and transformation experience having led the implementation of end-to-end business transformation programmes or projects - and their associated teams - within large and complex organisations using different project management methodologies. (E) - Experience of working within a systematic project environment, e.g. MSP, PRINCE2, Agile and/or Lean project methodology. (E)
- Experience in operating in a complex project structure, comfortable in identifying and assessing options, and navigating through to delivery of tangible and beneficial outcomes. (E)
- Target Operating Model design and implementation. (E)
- Change Management experience on significant change projects. (E)
- Experience supporting the delivery of quality improvement initiatives. (D)
- Experience of designing, leading and facilitating process design workshops. (E)
- IT literate with strong knowledge and experience of MS Office tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Word). (E)
- Experience of operating in a Big-4 Audit environment, either in the direct delivery of audits or in the application of consultancy/transformation skills (D), Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate complex matters in a clear and compelling manner.
- Highly effective stakeholder management and relationship building skills; credible and confident with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to quickly analyse and interpret complex technical information.
- Effective problem solver; makes pragmatic and logical decisions, drawing on technical expertise and available to provide high quality, creative solutions.
- Self-driven and resilient; able to thrive in a high-pressure and dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and deadlines., MSP, PRINCE2 or equivalent professional programme and/or project management qualification. (E)
