Full Job Description

Due to interval progression within our team we are excited to be seeking a dynamic and creative communications professional to join our hard working and supportive team.
About the role
As part of Lincolnshire County Council's Communications team, you'll play a key role in ensuring that our 700,000 residents are well-informed about our services while keeping over 5,000 staff members updated on vital council information.

This is a unique opportunity to showcase your skills by creating engaging written, image, and video content for our website and social media platforms, highlighting the positive impact of our work in local communities.

You'll actively contribute to planning and coordinating integrated communications campaigns-covering internal, external, and digital communications-ensuring that residents, service users, and stakeholders stay informed. In addition, you'll work closely with local, regional, and national journalists to maximise media coverage that reflects the great work being done across LCC.

Your role will involve offering strategic and tactical advice to senior politicians and key officers on media, communications, and marketing plans. You'll be expected to support services in delivering their objectives while protecting and enhancing the council's reputation. Whether it's leading a multi-faceted communications campaign, promoting major council initiatives, preparing councillors for media interviews, or advising senior staff on effective communications strategies, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our messages are impactful and clear., As our Strategic Communication Lead, you'll enjoy flexible working arrangements. While we don't expect you to be in our Lincoln office every day, you'll need to attend key council meetings, important sessions with senior officers and councillors, and occasionally travel to other county locations for meetings or PR opportunities.

We're looking for an experienced communications professional with a background in journalism or corporate communications in either the public or private sector. You should bring proven practical experience in communications planning and execution, along with a strong creative flair for developing innovative strategies.
