Are you ready to make a real impact in Cleveland Police with strategy and governance? Cleveland Police is seeking a talented individual to oversee our contracts and governance processes.

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Be involved in business focussed strategic commissioning and procurement activities to assist the Force and OPCC to make effective expenditure decisions.


  • Bring value for money in all third-party expenditure and collaborative procurement initiatives across a portfolio of £35 - £50 million annually.


  • Create continuous improvement in the commissioning and procurement processes.

  • Be responsible for Force and Business Unit performance and reporting requirements.


  • You'll provide professional advice and guidance to the Director of Finance and Assets, Head of Financial and Payroll Services and Commissioning & Procurement Manager on strategic contracts, partnership contracts and PFI contracts and be accountable for the effective performance of those contracts.

    In addition, you'll support the Commissioning and Procurement Manager and Head of Financial and Payroll Services in cultivating an innovative and effective Procurement function, managing key leads and playing a prominent role in the leadership and line management of the team.

    Vital to this position is ensuring value for money in delivering the Force workplan relating to Procurement, thereby supporting Operational outcomes for victims and communities that comply with the relevant procurement and statutory guidelines and laws.

  • Proven experience in Strategic Contract Management

  • Knowledge of contract law, public private partnerships and PFI

  • Experience of influencing and negotiating with senior internal and external partners and customers

  • Experience of managing staff including mentoring and training
