We have an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team! We are looking for a Strategic Manager to lead services for children in need; children subject to a child protection plan and those within the Family Justice system in the East of the county. The portfolio includes the oversight of 5 Families First statutory social work teams, the Pre-Birth team and Future Hope (formally Pause). The post holder also have lead responsibility for Domestic Abuse and the Family Justice., As a local authority we are ambitious for our children and are committed to ensuring that every child and family receives outstanding services and support through consistent and high quality social work and innovative service delivery., Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable social care practice leader who will join the team and drive forward our vision. We are currently embedding the Signs of Safety social work practice model across the whole service and are committed to practice which is strengths based and focused on developing high quality relationships with children and families in order to achieve the very best outcomes.

You will need the following:

  • Final professional qualification in Social Work;
  • MBA or management qualification or be prepared to work towards this.
  • Current Social Work England Registration
