Full Job Description

This role would suit both a strategically minded Pricing Analyst looking for their next step, or an early-career strategy consultant looking to move in-house. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Pricing, you'll work within the Pricing team to ensure we maintain a cohesive value-based pricing strategy to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction. You'll work closely with the Product, Marketing and Sales teams to create innovative pricing models for new and upgraded products considering market and competitor data. You'll also support the Sales team on major bids by creating dynamic financial models for use as decision support.
You'll be joining an experienced Pricing team with a focus on value-based selling and strong working relationships across the business. Although the team sits under Finance, much of your work will be with other functions and will require a strong commercial and strategic lens.
This is a remote based role with some travel as needed to Zellis & Moorepay offices including Swinton, Peterborough and Bristol.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head of Strategic Pricing in developing a coordinated and consistent value-based pricing strategy for Zellis & Moorepay on HCM, Moorepay NextGen, and a range of other products and services.

  • Working cross-functionally to understand, articulate, and quantify the customer value case for new product features / functionality.

  • Developing data-rich models with Marketing, Product Management and Sales to enable strong analysis of customers buying behaviour and commercial strategy.

  • Analysing deals won / lost and proposing adjusted pricing strategies to improve conversion rates.

  • Developing and owning customer P&L and commercial proposals for large complex deals; working with Sales to provide input to both internal Exec and customer presentation decks.

  • Proactively assisting the Sales team in telling the story by providing effective data visualisation.

  • Leading and contributing to tactical initiatives that generate Zellis & Moorepay Revenue / EBITDA growth.

  • Building automated processes and reporting to generate any additional granular level commercial metrics.

  • Analysing discounting across the Sales and Retention functions to ensure they remain within acceptable boundaries (as set out within the DOA) and insights are made available to respective stakeholders (e.g. Sales Management, Finance, and the Senior Leadership team).

  • Analysing data to generate insight - e.g. understanding bundle / module penetration across the customer base to drive decisions to support the product roadmap.

  • Supporting the modelling of any new product / commercial initiatives to aid stakeholders' decisions on proposed options.

  • Supporting the Business Unit with any new initiative modelling for new products / initiatives and building business cases that can feed into budgets, forecasts and 5 year plans.

  • Supporting the Commercial and Finance functions to deliver "back-book" and "front-book" pricing initiatives to optimise the balance of yield vs attrition.

  • Managing 'Back-Book' pricing campaign, liaising with Marketing and Retention functions to realise the businesses 'revenue target' while manage churn below budget.

Minimum two years' experience in an analysis role, which could include a broader role in financial analysis, but preferably you'll have experience in product and solution/suite pricing (new product introduction and segment pricing is a plus)!

  • Familiarity with basic financial skills, including understand of profit & loss, cash flow, and business cases.

  • Experience working in Consulting, PE-owned businesses or other fast-paced environments. Experience in a SaaS business is highly desirable.

  • A self-starter with a track record of "getting things done." You'll be comfortable with ambiguity and able to take the initiative.

  • Comfortable with both qualitative and quantitative information and have experience synthesising the two.

  • A great analytic toolkit, you'll know your way around a Pivot Table and other advanced Excel tools (VBA and PowerBI will be a bonus!) and are experienced with effective data visualisation. You understand how to analyse data and to interpret trends.

  • A strong communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences, experienced in building presentations to a high standard.

  • A strong commercial lens.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly with people at all levels and across multiple functions (Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Technology, etc) to gather information, build consensus and effect change.

  • Some experience in business case development and financial modelling.
