About the role Reporting to the Research Director, the Data Research Lead will manage one of the teams within the wider Data and Analytics function. The Research team's core mission is identifying new data to enrich our database and assist with Expana's growth strategy. The team researches commodities across food and non-food categories, identifying and preparing reliable data for inclusion on our platform. In this role, you will lead projects to integrate new data to the platform for our external and internal clients. In a world of conformity and structured guidelines, you should inspire the team to find new ways to improve the company's offerings. Location Hybrid role primarily based in London, but must be able to travel to the Bourne End office once or twice a month or whenever required. Responsibilities

• Driving the strategy of the department in line with company goals
• Mentoring and developing researchers' skillset and knowledge
• Releasing and promoting new data
• Managing cross-departmental projects
• Finding suitable improvements in workstreams to create more efficient processes
• Managing client queries about data and sources
Skills & Qualifications
• University degree, especially in Economics, Engineering, Agronomy or similar field would be beneficial
• Previous line management or experience in leading a project team
• Proven experience in secondary research, especially working with time series, prices, or economic data
• Analytically minded and very comfortable using Excel and similar applications
• Excellent attention to detail and an organised approach to work
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise, and coherent manner
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a pressured environment and deliver work to set deadlines
• Experience of commodity markets and/or purchasing management or interest in industrial or agricultural commodities
• Entry level knowledge of Python or Databricks would be beneficial
