BBC StoryWorks is the award-winning commercial brand studio within BBC Studios, responsible for developing, producing and delivering content-led commercial campaigns across our international digital and television news offer. This includes - but is not limited to - commercial brand films, digital creative, podcasts, written content, as well as the packaging of editorial sponsorships., The role of the Strategy Director is to lead and mentor the Strategy team based in London and Dubai in delivering brand and creative strategy for RFPs and proactive pitches for a wide spectrum of advertising clients. The Strategy Director will oversee the development of all pitch work from the team, focusing on the creation of holistic upfront narratives and strategies for pitches - utilising audience insights and liasing with Editorial teams as required - that answer "Why BBC?" and "Why this partnership?" for potential clients. The Strategy Director will work hand in hand with the Creative and Project Management teams in EMEA, as well as the wider Ad Sales division inside a matrix of stakeholders including sales teams, editorial, marketing, compliance and senior management within BBC Studios. This role reports directly to the Vice President of BBC StoryWorks EMEA. We are seeking a highly creative, collaborative and thoughtful team lead who can develop strategies for brand partnerships that maximise quality brand storytelling across BBC-owned platforms. The successful candidate will be an effective and inspiring individual who can represent BBC StoryWorks in internal and external meetings.,
- To provide inspirational leadership and strategic oversight for all aspects of pre-sale development for the BBC StoryWorks EMEA team. This includes resourcing and management of the Strategy team inside BBC StoryWorks EMEA, providing guidance on brand and creative strategy, and nurturing their growth.
- Develop strategic vision that identifies and meets brand objectives effectively, guides creative solutions, and positions BBC as the best partner to achieve those objectives.
- Implement efficient pre-sale processes including appropriate cross-team check-ins, crafting creative briefs, brainstorms and briefing process.
- Partner closely with Creative team leads to ensure creative strategy and ideas solve the brand challenge or help meet the brand objective.
- Embody BBC values and quality at all times as a key role representing the commercial face of the BBC brand.
Senior-level experience as a strategy leader in an in-house creative agency for a global publisher or advertising/creative agency with strategic skills that span across brand, comms, and media. - Senior-level experience of making compelling strategic narratives, communicating a clear strategic vision to various stakeholders internally and externally.
- Proven track record in long-term and effective leadership, managing and motivating teams, and ensuring staff members receive regular feedback for development. Experience of managing performance. Experience of working with and developing talent to a high professional standard.
- Strong pitch experience, comfortable with high-level client exposure. The Strategy Lead must be able to lead conversations and pitch to C-suite executives and business leaders.
- Ability to work under deadlines and stay focused simultaneously on the big picture and smallest details. Criteria:

- Strong understanding of the trends shaping consumer behaviour.
