Full Job Description
As a roads and street works inspector, you'll be responsible for checking that work carried out on our highways, keeps people safe. This will primarily involve conducting inspections on works being carried out by utility and highway contractors in accordance with the NRSWA Code of Practice for Street Works Inspections and the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH). The work helps to ensure Telford and Wrekin Council manages the road network effectively and keeps disruption to a minimum. Duties will include meeting with utility company and contractor representatives and explaining in what way they have not complied with regulations and specifications and arranging and negotiating remedial actions. The role also requires you to interact with the public and deal with and respond to customer complaints. You may be required to undertake inspections of skips and scaffolding alongside other duties at the request of your line manager.
