Full Job Description

You'll be making South Gloucestershire a nicer place to live and work. As part of a vital front line team carrying out street cleansing duties, you will be responsible for collecting litter, clearing spaces of land and removing bulky waste.
What will you be doing?

  • Working outside in all weathers on verges, footpaths, roadways and other outdoor environments, you will assist in the removal of waste in a variety of settings as well as controlling weed growth and removing graffiti.

  • You may be working on high speed roads and on occasion might be working in unpleasant/hazardous environments

  • To ensure your health and safety you will abide by strict guidelines to comply with all appropriate legislation, including instructions relating to waste disposal in force at that time.

  • Depending on duties, weekend and night-time work may be involved, for which the appropriate enhancement will be paid.

    A full driving license to at least category B for manual transmission vehicles is required and you will need to be competent to drive vehicles up to maximum 3500kg MAM.

  • You must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in weather through the year - this job involves extensive walking and frequent manual handling tasks.

  • You will have the ability to read and follow written works instructions, read maps and complete paper records.
