Full Job Description
Reporting to the Team Leader for Inspections, the role is to ensure full compliance of Street work Legislation and Codes of Practice on works being carried out by Statutory Undertakers. This is to ensure the expeditious movement on the network under both the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004. The role also requires safety inspections to be carried out on previous completed works to ensure it is not defective, and to deal with these as required and in compliance with the Specification of Reinstatements on the Highway (SROH)., This is an interesting and varied role for the right candidate to gain knowledge of Streetworks, of permits, compliance, and legislation within the Steetworks Team. You will gain experience in dealing with Utilities and liaising with internal teams to ensure statutory undertakers perform as per legislation. Shift patterns are Monday to Sunday, 7am to 3pm and 11am to 7pm, on a rota basis. This will be discussed further during the interview. Total working week will be 37 hours. Mobile: A 'mobile' role gives you the flexibility to schedule your own diary, so you can meet with colleagues and clients in a variety of locations. You'll access digital folders and resources on your laptop and be able to use the network wherever you are based. Working from home will be common, as well as meeting your team in the office where necessary., Staff work remotely for at least 100% of the working week. You will be required to be out on the Network, unless required for meetings or ad hoc duties., Our Communities directorate works across the county to deliver a number of the key customer-facing services that our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day. This directorate includes a wide range of services, including:
- collecting and disposing of waste and recycling
- maintaining our roads and Rights of Way network and parking
- ensuring the delivery of school transport, and supporting sustainable travel including public bus services and School Crossing Patrollers
- managing Country Parks
- leisure facilities, museums, theatres and libraries, as well as developing our Cultural Strategy
- licensing, cemeteries and crematoria The customer is central to how we develop and deliver all of these services, which help promote our rich and vibrant culture and special environment. - Excellent organisation and administration skills
- Good communicator both verbal and written.

- Experience of raising and processing invoices ideally using SAP.
