PLEASE NOTE: This vacancy is open to North Northants Council internal applicants only Do you want be part of a service that inspires change and has the interests of the community at its heart? Seeking a new challenge to help shape, develop and deliver various projects across the Stronger Communities service? Then we have a great opportunity for you to join us as our Stronger Communities Co-ordinator (Projects)!What will you be doing? In the role of the Stronger Communities Officer (Projects) you will develop and lead work associated with the Armed Forces Covenant, the immediate work will to support the Council in attaining the Gold Employer Recognition Scheme and to be able to maintain and develop the work to support the Armed Forces Community. You will also support new initiatives and projects, as appropriate. In addition to this, you will be responsible for developing and facilitating community action so that communities and individuals are enabled to do more for themselves, work together, and create stronger and more resilient communities. This secondment will end 31 July 2025.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

  • knowledge of community development issues and principals
  • experience of working collaboratively with a range of people from different background
  • good working knowledge of the Armed Forces and their particular needs
  • outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
  • possess an abundance of drive and determination
  • It would also be nice for you to have:
  • experience of developing and delivering training
  • project management experience
  • knowledge of housing provision for the Armed Forces community
