As our Structural Discipline Lead, you will design and develop complex structural solutions in the energy sector and oversee the team both in the UK and in our overseas design centres. We are currently growing a new structural engineering capability within our Energy and Resources business and you have the opportunity to develop growth plans and support recruitment to develop a successful, well integrated team. As well as being the team leader, you will be hands-on and actively participate in structural design work. You will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, ensuring technical excellence in all outputs. You will have expertise in above ground superstructures, foundations of all types and deep substructures and you will deliver projects including the following:-

  • Refurbishment and assessment of existing power stations.
  • Control buildings.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.

Ideally you will be a chartered Structural Engineer, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex structural engineering projects. You will have in-depth knowledge of structural analysis and design principles for various materials (concrete, steel, etc.). You will have proficiency in eurocodes for concrete, steel, masonry and geotechnical design and experience in the design of water retaining structures. You will have strong experience in structural analysis using specialized software (e.g., STAAD Pro, Midas NX FEA, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis). You will have experience in managing and mentoring junior staff, fostering their professional development. You will oversee project budgets and timelines for the structural engineering aspects. You will prepare and review technical documents, reports, and proposals.
