Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, urban designers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients, both nationally and internationally.

We are looking for Structural Engineers to join our busy and exciting Building Structures team who are currently working on some extremely diverse and challenging projects. Our exciting key clients include Heathrow Airport, London Underground, National Grid and various advanced technology organisations including pharmaceutical laboratories, giga factories and microchip manufacturers.

As a Structural Engineer you will play a role in providing technical design solutions on projects delivered by our Cities & Places operating unit. Using technical experience and excellent people skills, you will work with others within multi-disciplinary teams to produce designs and associated deliverables for projects, along with assisting in the development of more junior members of the team.

You will undertake structural analysis and produce designs, calculations and specifications on a variety of projects to a high quality, along with undertaking structural surveys / inspections, and producing under the supervision of a Structural Engineering lead.
Here's what you'll need

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Graduate member of a relevant professional body (IStructE or ICE) and working towards Chartered Membership

  • Relevant experience in the design and specification of building structures to relevant codes of practice and production of calculations and design deliverables to a high quality

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team, liaising with clients, architects and other design team members

  • Ability to consider sustainability and safety in the development of design solutions.

  • A curious and proactive approach, enjoying developing new skills and sharing ideas with others

  • Sound knowledge of BIM and working in compliance with BIM standards, along with the implementation of 3D structural design on projects

  • Experience in the use of structural analysis and design software - Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable but not essential

  • Experience of software coding (Dynamo, Python etc.) is desirable, but not an essential requirement

  • We'll need you to embrace new technologies including digital and automation
