Full Job Description
In the role of Structures Project Engineer, here's an example of what you'll be doing to make an impact:
- Identify engineering requirements for construction projects and design
- Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, contract documents
- Programme, plan and undertake testing, inspection, and surveying work,
- Provide structural engineering advice for other sections, departments and
- Recent experience in the design and delivery of highway bridges and structures.
- Collaborator with proven ability in delivering project work to challenging deadlines.
- Experience of supervising technical staff.
- Experience in carrying out duties and responsibilities under the CDM regulations. A good knowledge of various conditions of contract (eg: NEC, ICE) and contract administration.
- Ability to use CAD and knowledge of Structural Engineering software such as Quickport/Quickjoint, SAND, STRAP and TEDDS
- Experience and ability to carry out general and principal inspections in accordance with the requirements of the DMRB and Management of Highway Structures Code of Practice
- Extensive knowledge of Specification for Highways Works and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
- Ability to give guidance on technical standards
- Extensive working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation relevant to the construction industry
