Full Job Description

We are looking for a proactive project manager to oversee the success provision of the Access and Participation Plan (APP), while building strong relationships with key academic and professional services colleagues to ensure the successful implementation and evaluation of APP activities. This role will focus on driving student success, enhancing retention, and projects to reduce the Black and White awarding gap.
This is an exciting role within the Student Engagement Team, providing an opportunity to make a real difference and help deliver our targets within our Student Opportunity and Success Strategy and our APP. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Student Achievement and the wider Student Achievement Services teams. You will develop relationships with key stakeholders across the University and Students' Union; including academic colleagues, and our students, to understand existing provision and implement improvements.
The successful candidate will have a good honours degree. You will have recent significant experience of managing student success and/or widening participation projects, with an understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by different groups of students, particularly those who are under-represented in higher education. You will have experience of line management, successfully leading a team in education and the ability to effectively evaluate large scale projects.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston.
The interview date will be Thursday 19 December 2024
