Full Job Description
The College is seeking a Student Adviser to provide welfare support to students, based at our campuses in Epping and Redbridge. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who cares about making a difference, to join our friendly and experienced Bursary & Welfare team., Our Student Advisers (Welfare) provide students with advice, information and guidance on a variety of issues, including housing, homelessness, financial hardship, immigration and benefits. They also provide information to students on support available externally, e.g., from charities, food banks, and local authorities. As members of the Bursary & Welfare team they also contribute to bursary processes across the Group as needed.
The successful applicant will have experience of 1-1 advisory work and hold relevant qualifications. They will offer a professional service, keeping up to date with welfare-related local and national developments. It is essential to have experience of working in a diverse customer-centred environment, both face to face and over the telephone. Being able to work effectively under pressure is key.
