Full Job Description
The Student Development Coordinator supports the delivery of programs and activities that enhance students' personal, academic, and professional development. Working closely with the Student Development Manager and other stakeholders, the coordinator ensures the smooth execution of enrichment initiatives, promotes student engagement, and fosters a positive environment that encourages lifelong learning and skill-building. This role involves organising events, providing guidance to students, and maintaining strong communication with staff to ensure the success of development opportunities.
- Organisational and Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Event Coordination: Experience in planning, organising, and delivering student events, workshops, and enrichment activities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds, showing empathy and understanding.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and find practical solutions in a dynamic setting.
- Digital Proficiency: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other digital tools for communication, scheduling, and reporting.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and other departments to deliver successful student development initiatives. Essential Experience:
- Experience in Student Engagement: Previous experience working in a student-facing role, ideally within a higher education, youth, or community setting.
- Program Development: Experience in the design, delivery, and evaluation of student enrichment programs or extracurricular activities.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, such as academic staff, student organizations, and community partners, to deliver effective student programs.
- Event Planning and Management: Hands-on experience in managing student-focused events, from concept through to execution.
- Understanding of Diversity and Inclusion: A commitment to promoting inclusivity, understanding the needs of diverse student populations, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities.
