Full Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Officer involve supporting the Professional Mentoring Leader with various stages of the programme, i.e. recruitment of students and mentors, promotion, selection process, interviews, training, matching, and events. The Officer is responsible for maintaining databases and keeping a clear line of communication with all stakeholders and taking care of administrative and organisational duties that support the smooth running of two mentoring cohorts every academic year. Event planning and delivery are key to the role of the Student Development Officer.

The role of the Student Development Officer (Professional Mentoring) will be suited for a professional with great attention to detail, who can process large volumes of information and simultaneously work on different tasks to tight deadlines. As the nature of the programme involves meeting people from various backgrounds, oftentimes dealing with sensitive information, strong listening skills, and a high level of emotional intelligence, i.e. ability to understand, empathise, encourage, support, and comfort is highly desirable.

Professional Mentoring is a fast-paced environment, where we strive to deliver the highest level of service to every participant, therefore we are looking for professionals with the ability to multitask, think on their feet, and be willing to take initiative while being consistent with the ethos of the programme.
