Full Job Description
As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for high-calibre people to join our Student Journey team as a Student Journey Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to enter a well-established and respected department. As Student Journey Advisor, you will be working closely with the other Student Journey Advisors, you will be a dedicated contact for an allocated cohort of students. Supporting students with non-academic enquiries, information and advice from pre-enrolment all the way through to successful completion of the student programme. This role will guide and support students through every step of their learning journey, ensuring that each student has the best possible experience and achieves the highest outcomes. You will also support the Campus Dean and Programme Teams on campus to monitor student attendance reports and assist with the coordination of meetings and activities to manage 'at risk' students. The post holder will also participate in events on campus, e.g. Freshers' Fair, to promote the service and increase awareness amongst the student population. You will:
- Act as the first point of contact, providing advice and guidance, and identifying solutions and options to ensure student retention and success.
- Participate in relevant campus-based events where required to assist in the promotion and awareness of the Student Journey service.
- Meet with students virtually and respond to enquiries via a CRM platform.
- Arrange one-to-one discussion sessions, for the student to discuss status changes including transfer, intermission and withdrawal to improve retention. Undertake checks and administer the changes to the student record once the change has been approved.
- Regularly review student attendance/engagement and reach out to students to check their progress and identify any required interventions and/or support.
- Support the Campus Dean and Programme Teams on campus with the ongoing process of attendance monitoring including the production of reports where required.
- Assist with the coordination of meetings and activities relating to attendance monitoring on campus, ensuring key stakeholders in other teams are included as required to maximise student retention and success.
- Refer students to other support departments and services. You will have experience of working within a demanding customer service environment, where you were required to have a broad knowledge of a number of different services. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of being the first point of contact. You will be able to deal calmly with difficult or sensitive situations and work cooperatively as part of a team.
