Full Job Description
The Trust runs a HUB and SPOKE model for this apprenticeship. This means each student Nursing Associate is assigned a HUB placement for the full two years where they will be managed as a member of staff. The Student Nursing Associate will be released from their HUB by their employer to attend SPOKE placements throughout the two years. SNAs will work clinically for 80% of their time in their clinical area and attend University for 20% each week. This two-year apprenticeship combines both University academic study and work-based learning in the physical, psychological and public health aspects of nursing care from pre-conception to end of life. As the Nursing Associate role is non-field specific, the apprenticeship includes SPOKE placements within the different fields of nursing to prepare you for being a flexible practitioner. These include:
- Adult
- Surgery
- Medicine
- Community
- Children and Young Person
- Maternity
- Mental health
- Learning Disability
