Full Job Description

Do you pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain good working relationships with young adults? Can you empathise whilst being firm but fair? The Hundred of Hoo Academy have a great opportunity and are seeking to appoint a Student Services Officer who will support students across the academy with attendance, behaviour for learning, and emotional wellbeing.

The Student Services Officer will have the opportunity to develop and apply detailed skills and knowledge to ensure a consistent and effective approach to behaviour management across the academy. They will implement and monitor strategies to promote effective learning behaviours, providing support within the Isolation Unit to establish and maintain productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and mentor.

Additionally, the role involves developing and delivering a range of preventative approaches to behaviour management, while also monitoring and analysing behaviour patterns across the academy. The successful candidate will help analyse behaviour trends and lead on appropriate actions to address those trends, either on an individual or small group basis.

The role also includes responsibilities to provide support to other pastoral staff, involving behaviour mentoring, liaising with other provisions where students are educated off-site, and supporting attendance and punctuality. Whilst full training will be offered, our successful candidate will have some prior experience of working in a similar capacity directly with young people, offering an empathetic and restorative approach to benefit the students.

This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of £20,738 - £25,845 per annum (£23,893 - £29,777 full-time equivalent) based on working 37.5 hours per week, term time + 1 week of inset.
