Full Job Description

  • Run our busy subcontract department, so you will need to be able to work unsupervised as well as working within the production team.

  • Placing orders with suppliers.

  • Packing, inspecting and labelling parts ready to go out to subcontractors.

  • Lifting moving parts and other manual labor tasks.

  • Booking-in goods and making sure deliveries are correct according to purchase orders.

  • Moving product to the next operation, maintaining correct identification of parts with ID tickets and drawings.

  • Running an open purchase order report daily to cover a period of 5 days.

  • Running an open purchase order report weekly to cover to the end of the month.

  • Sort order: Supplier - Description - Due Date

  • Running a sales order tracking report.

  • Sort order: Due Date - Customer - Part Number

  • Query status: All open and on hold

  • At the end of each week, run a sales order report for the following month, to identify any sub-contract requirements, run MRP (Material requirement planning) report.

  • Progress chase of subcontract components ensuring parts are received in time to ensure planned schedules are achieved in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and lead times, and communicating information to internal production and sales departments via production meetings.

  • Be responsible for stock control of hardware and material items, maintaining monthly inventories, ensuring the company computer system is kept up to date.

  • Training will be provided.

    Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Accuracy and ability to follow work instructions

  • Able to multitask in an ever-changing market

  • Ability to work within a team environment to achieve team/department objectives

  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines, We are seeking to appoint an organised and self motivated individual to the role of Purchasing Assistant. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to develop or redevelop within a purchasing/procurement environment. Successful candidates will receive full training., Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
