Full Job Description

We wish to appoint, from January 2025, a well-qualified, dynamic and inspirational Subject Leader or Teacher of Religious Studies to cover for the post holder's maternity leave. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner, who will enable students to develop an understanding of religious education beyond the examination syllabus. HBS is an academically selective girls' school with a culturally diverse, multi-faith intake. Religious Studies is taught at KS3 to every student and is an option subject at GCSE. This is a Subject Leader post in a one-person Department.

Applicants must be able to teach Religious Studies at least to GCSE level. Applicants are also welcome from those who are interested in the teaching position without the leadership responsibility. This post could be either full or part-time. Please indicate a preference in the letter of application.

A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the Department and the school in general is desirable.
